WE ARE ‘JAMAFRICAN’ My husband Paul and myself Jannette Barrett, have been together for 33yrs and consider ourselves a formidable force of unity. It’s not just love that holds us like bricks to mortar but the power of our commitment to improve ourselves year on year and hold our passions alive.
Paul loves to host garden parties, where he cooks and plays music, my compliment to that is, to sing, dance and entertain. That’s our glue. Singularly, Paul is the anchor in his family, of course I’m biased but I think it is a valid opinion. He orchestrates many things for all his siblings and caters to most of his mother’s needs. I am a very fortunate woman indeed to have him by my side.
As a father, grandfather. He makes himself available to assist. Financially, emotionally and is always at the ready to provide the necessary support. Now, myself. I’m a natural creative. However, I’m also a dyslexic so my ways of educating myself come with great determination and discipline. I love to write truths so after writing my own autobiographical trilogy ‘The transition series of books that you can see within one of our captions. I went on to write plays of the legacies of others.
The plays have had a good viewing with positive feedback reviews. I couldn’t be prouder of myself at achieving these. So, when asked to model with my books, the representation of the ladder was a very suitable prop. It was most definitely a step-by-step procedure indeed and not one to take lightly.
These overall captions of our pictures, represents our Jamaican African heritage and what you may see is just a couple, but we are blood, sweat, tears, courage, poor, not so poor, joy, heartache, sadness, pain, the very truth of…” In sickness and in health”. WE ARE ‘JAMAFRICAN’
